The Progress of Words (مسيــرة الكلمات)
An interactive sound experience unfolding as a journey through indeterminate symbolic spaces, where language, memory, and imagination shape shifting territories. The work explores spaces that are inhabited, abandoned, and reactivated by the imagination. Through sound spatialization, the visitor is gradually immersed in a dreamlike environment, where perception becomes fluid and unstable. Repetition and cyclical sequences suggest the possibility of return — not as a fixed point, but as a movement through layered states of meaning. Developed during an artistic residency at Château Éphémère — Fabrique Sonore et Numérique (Carrières-sous-Poissy, France), the piece extends the artist’s broader research into indeterminacy and perceptual experience, translating it into a sonic and linguistic environment. Poetic fragments in Arabic and French, drawn from her own writings, are embedded within the work as shifting semantic structures.
